A wonderful man of strength and character that loved serving the Lord. Supt. Allen's gift of exhortation and prayer was the sustaining factor in the life of Power of Praise Ministries. He was born the third child of Deacon Arthur and Mother Doris Allen in Long Beach, CA and was trained and groomed for ministry from his youth at Gospel Memorial Church Of God In Christ by his spiritual leader and pastor of 30 years, Bishop Joe L. Ealy. Pastor Allen was ordained an Elder in the Church Of God In Christ in 1982 by the late Bishop J.A. Blake. He faithfully served in the church on the local and jurisdictional levels as a youth leader, Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Vice-President of the State Youth Department and a member of the State Youth Educational Department all in Southern California First Jurisdiction. Pastor Allen was appointed the District Superintendent of the Antelope Valley District of Southern California, First Jurisdiction, by Bishop Charles E. Blake in January 2005.
On a secular level Supt. Allen was a school teacher with the Long Beach Unified School District for over 23 years. He received an A.A. degree in Child Development, a B.A. degree in Human Development and a M.A. degree in Education, with a concentration in counseling and guidance. He was a faithful and loving husband to his partner in ministry, Lady La Tanya Blake Allen and devoted father to their wonderful children. He was a man of godly character and integrity.
On Friday, December 16, 2005, Supt. Ron L. Allen was called from labor to reward. He left a strong legacy of love, commitment and dedication to his family and the work of the Lord. He will forever be missed by his family, church and friends.
Faithfully stood by the side of her husband, the Late Supt. Ron L. Allen. They were married for 18 years and enjoyed ministry together throughout their entire marriage.
Lady Allen was born and reared in Los Angeles, California under the godly hands of her grandparents, the late Pastor Ulysses and Mother Marie Blake. She is proud to be a 4th Generation member of the Church Of God In Christ. She was licensed as a Missionary in 1991 by Supervisor Barbara McCoo Lewis. and served as the District Missionary of the New Antelope Valley District from 2003 to 2009. She is very active in the life of the Women's Department of Southern California First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. After the unexpected homegoing of Supt. Allen, Lady Allen was appointed the Administrator and Teacher of this great ministry by Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake. This elevation has enabled her to continue the legacy and vision that was established at the founding of the ministry in 1994. Administrator Allen has an unusual anointing that has given her favor throughout Christendom. She is truly brought to the Kingdom for such a time as this.
Lady Allen founded WINGS Christian Women's Alliance in 1999. She has been given the opportunity to travel the length and breadth of this country preaching and ministering the Word of God with power and excellence. She is steadily becoming one of our nation's sought after ministers of the Gospel.
Lady Allen and Supt. Allen were blessed with two anointed children, Krystle and Blake, and a host of many spiritual sons and daughters.
